Finally had enough with the barespots / patches and decided to do something with it. The goal is to make it a little less of an eyesore without sinking in a ton of energy/resources. Soil test results stated pH at 5.2 with high levels of sodium, good calcium, copper & manganese. The property size is 0.44 acre but, foot/walk estimate yields total lawn size about 12K sq ft. Applied 500 lbs of dolomiti lime a couple days ago. I was going to dethatch/scarify when the night time temperature hit a steady 50F and up, about a month from now, loosely based on long term weather forecast. Decided to wait till fall to overseed to minimize water input. Dandellions are everywhere but we just mow them down with recently sharpened blades and have no plans using glyphosate at all. I may dethatch / scrarify several spots and add big box seeds and compost, fertilize at the seeded spots until a full lime/dethatch/scarify/overseed with decent TTTF in Sep. What else would you suggest between now and fall? TIA.
