Malachite Question - was it necessary?
I just saw a clip of lapis and jasper fusing at the end of jailbreak and it’s been a few years since I’ve watched the show in full but I kinda realized maybe it was completely unnecessary for lapis to fuse with jasper in that moment.
Don’t get me wrong it was cool to see and was amazing first time watching the episode way back but seeing the clip again was different. The ship was destroyed so jasper wasn’t going back to homeworld. All of the crystal gems were gathered and were likely capable of stopping jasper on her own now. I can see lapis wanting to protect Steven but she was also right beside the ocean she could’ve just attacked jasper?
Logically does lapis’s actions to fuse make sense to you in retrospect?
