As the title says, I’m 38 now, and lately I’ve had this realization that the mass market skincare stuff I used to grab without thinking just doesn’t seem to do much anymore. I still stick to a routine, which is basically a cleanser, moisturizer, SPF, the basics. But between work, keeping the house from turning into complete chaos, and taking care of kids, I feel like my skin is constantly running on empty no matter how consistent I try to be
Well, tbh I’m not expecting miracles, but I’ve definitely noticed that my skin doesn’t look the way it did in my twenties and even early 30’. Stress shows up faster, lack of sleep sticks around longer, and I’m starting to feel like drugstore products don’t even get me halfway there. I thought maybe it’s time to invest in something a little more luxurious instead of buying the same products out of habit
I recently saw Synergie Skin products and they seem more on the professional side without feeling completely out of reach. It’s our local Australian brand and tbh I’m tempted to treat myself and see if upgrading my routine actually makes a difference, especially since skincare has become one of the few me things I still try to keep up with.
For people in their late 30s or 40s, what professional or semi-professional skincare products have genuinely been worth the money for you?
I feel like there’s a huge gap between basic drugstore stuff and full dermatologist-level treatments, and I’m trying to figure out what actually lives up to the hype
