Hey Juniors!

Welcome to NIT Durgapur family and first of all congratulations to everybody who will be joining our esteemed college! I hope you all are doing well! So as every other NIT-DGP Reddit user, I was just amused to scroll so many posts and comments regarding zone culture, senior threats, ragging and other related genres. So thereby I guess this post will be a crystal clear response to all these rumours, questions and queries. So pls bear to read the full post before posting any comments 👍

So first of all I would like to bring you all the misinformations being circulated in some reddit posts. I know it will offend many fake people with fake personality but I ain't afraid of saying the truth!

So basically if you see all the posts and comments, everyone will be seen either mocking or deliberately criticizing the zone culture of our clg. To be honest the zone culture has its own pros and cons. But the constant misleading information being spread is really pathetic. I mean zone in not equal to being a criminal or letting you being ragged physically and mentally or any other sh*t which is being constantly being spread. Many ppl are claiming that if you go to zone they will force you to drink and smoke. Brother, if you ever see the 2029 Bengal Zone ig you will get your answer, if drinking nd smoking were mandatory then you would not had seen "them" (not mentioning names) in zones too. Infact drinking and smoking is completely their will, no senior forces you either you are zone in or out. And the guy who said these I want to say him, just go and watch your so called cute "zone-out" ppl, I can give you a ton of zone out guys who are seen drinking nd smoking not only in hostel but also openly in campus which is totally a disrespect.

Now let's come to the second point, "If you go in zone your cgpa will be destroyed and you will completely end up with ur academics", so I ain't saying this but some cute reddit users are pointing this out. So firstly I want to ask a direct question to the ppl writting this proudly, bruhh what's ur cgpa, are you ashamed to share it? Bruhh but u r f*cking zone out, u must have got 25 hrs in a day to study 😂, you should top mate why didn't you made it happen? 😂 So brother, pls go to the 2029 batch, I can show u plenty zone ins who have cgpa greater than 9 and go to 2028 batch, even seniors with 9.3, 9.1 are zone in and u are f*cking even trying hard to get a 7.5 cg! 😂 I totally agree that many zone ins have low cg bcoz they got involved in clg politics so much that they didn't manage their academics which is very bad and I would never recommend anyone to follow that path. But remember, nobody said you to get involved so much, it's basically you on ur own do politics and this get dragged in by urself. So zone never deteriorates your academics, its basically you! In zone, yes I agree you will kill some time but that ain't much even zone out waste the double of that time scrolling reels and posting sh*t in reddit. So yeah many zone ins have good clg many have bad, even many zone out have good cgpa, many have bad (literally many). So zone isn't a factor mate...

Now the third point, "Don't interact with seniors whom you saw smoking or drinking". This is the worst piece of advice I ever saw on reddit. Man I can give u a ton of examples of different batches where really good ppl smoke nd maybe drink but they are literally really great in academics, intelligent, trustworthy, friendly and would never ever force you or even say u to drink or smoke. I accept their are bad ppl but they are literally very rare. Bruhh I ain't promoting smoking or drinking, bcoz I know both are injurious to health but I just wanna say, be mature nd give up ur narrow minded thinking. You are in an institute of national importance, act like a student of it. Maturity is when you realise that the best person you have ever met used to smoke but the worst snake you ever met used to go to the temple every week. I hope you stop judging ppl by these factors. Bruhh I hope you will become mature some day if not today!

So i would basically say to the 2030 batch junis, come to the clg without any fear, there ain't any ragging or anything. Nobody will force you to be in zone. Zone has its own pros and cons which I guess is irrelevant to discuss here. But no need to be afraid, explore the college freely, no one will stop u, no one will force you to smoke nd drink, no one will rag u, ya I would only say one thing, beware of these fraud and misleading reddit posts 😂 other than this you are safe to go. And someone was saying to only interact with "good" seniors and beware of zone in one's. So there's no law claiming zone out = good, even I saw the worst guys addicted with drugs nd alcohol and have destroyed their cg being zone out one's. I agree some zone ins are misleading guys bcoz their academics have been destroyed long ago just bcoz of his activities. I would suggest every juni, to interact with every senior regardless of zone. If you ever feel uncomfortable or insecure if any senior asks you to come to their hall, then frankly deny them, no one will force you, it's completely your will.

Last but not the least, remember you came here for a bright future, so your goal is to develop skills and score a good cg so that you can achieve your parents' dreams and make your college feel proud.

Lol! I just now got to know that this N-24 Zone has removed one of their most valuable asset of 2nd yr! This guy was one of the most prominent figures of the Bengal Zone. He had previously been indulged in many cases like the 2025 1st yr UP-Bengal fight, the Hall 11 Protest last yr and many other inter-zone and intra-zone fights. This guy was one of the most fearsome guy. He had even a bad reputation of threatening ppl and taking money from them and had used all those money in buying drugs, alcohol and ciggerates. I mean I'm literally shocked to even hear this news of him being removed from the zone. Jo bhi ho thanks N-24 zone waale, jab kutta jyada bhokna start kare toh use sheer ka yaad dilana chahiye... 👍
