By the way, even though more than a month has passed, a very meaningful and pleasant moment occurred during this year's Eurovision season...

Last April in Amsterdam, the Azerbaijani representative Jiva signed the stage costume of the Armenian representative Simon, made of signed notes. Unfortunately, neither singer made it to the final; in fact, this was the first time since 2018 that both Armenia and Azerbaijan failed to reach the grand final.

Even today, you can spot so many Astras, Golfs, Vectras, Passats and various Renaults on Azerbaijani roads. In 2000s, Peugeot was one of the top sellers with 406, 307, 407 and so on (but they mysteriously disappeared in 2010s!). You can also spot quite a few Hondas and Fiat fourgons. Yet, despite their former popularity, these brands seemingly don't sell their cars via authorised dealers anymore. For instance, the Instagram account of Opel (Cahan Motors) was last updated in April 2024; Renault (Nurgün Motors), Volkswagen ("Azerbaijan Automobiles") and Fiat ("Avtolüks") in January, April and August respectively. Peugeot apparently continues to share but only about their fourgons, not cars; Honda's last posts were only about car service (and that was also until 2025). So, what happened to these brands? Why aren't they selling new cars despite once being very popular and well-known? Why did they lose their popularity in Azerbaijan, despite still selling strong in other countries? Thanks in advance.
