Can’t Say How Much I Love it 🥰

I’ve owned the PlayStation Portal since September 2025 because I kinda bought into the negative reviews people were posting online. However, my experience with this device has changed my mindset entirely about this amazing piece of hardware.

I discovered that even though a had smoother experience with my PS Portal, others still struggle to get it to work.

Here’s my Setup Guide;

1. I use a Mobile Hotspot (iPhone SE 2) for Remote Play instead of a traditional Router. Most routers have amazing specs and expensive price tags but can’t get above 5mb/s in a local stream network setup (Don’t care what the internet says, this is reality from experience).

2. Connect both the PS5 and the PS Portal to the same Mobile Hotspot so that the game streams locally (No internet data usage involved).

3. Disconnect all other devices from the Mobile Hotspot to avoid interruptions and micro jitters during gameplay. Other devices using the same network for downloads can cause interferences which will slow down your game stream and cause issues.

4. If you’re playing a more demanding game which your Hotspot can’t handle the new 1080p Max, using the regular 1080p is nice too. Enjoy Your PS Portal 🤍.
