We’ve had our L3 for about 4 years now shared between 3 cats, and it’s been showing its age.
I’ve had to replace the metal contacts / pinch sensor once last year. for the past few months now it’s been intermittently giving pinch sensor errors and has been persistent the last two weeks. I’ve tried cleaning them, and what seems to help is putting in some foil in between the contacts. but it would still give the error and I’d just push the bar that makes the contact hit this works 50% of the time though opening the litter drawer to get to that spot every time is getting annoying
besides the pinch sensor, litter has been getting stuck to the liner more often than before and falls on top of where the plastic pinch sensor bar is.
the smell was also getting worse and we clean it monthly.
i have just opted to buy replacement globe liner and motherboard circuit
if this doesn’t help these current issues then I’m going to have to start looking into an LR4 or 5 which is pretty taxing on the wallet right?
my concern and questions are the newer gen LR’s still worth getting? like will I eventually be doing the same thing and having to replace parts with them too?
at this point i might just go back to scooping
