I have had my LR4 for a month. I have three cats. The oldest (8 yrs) and only male (neutered) is the top cat. The girls (3 yr siblings both spayed) follow his lead. We started off ok. I put one of three regular litter boxes next to the LR4 and let the waste build up. Top cat used the LR4 to tinkle a few times. I thought we were on our way so returned
litter box number 1 to its upstairs location and got rid of regular litter box number 2. Unfortunately, top cat witnessed the LR cycling and it freaked him out. He’s not petrified of it. He’s still curious and peers into it, but he has not used it. So, I did a deep dive into how to fix this and went into operation try again. This time I turned the LR completely off. I also took the fence off, and added some waste and litter attractant to the potty area. I also brought regular litter box number 1 back downstairs and put it next to the LR and let it fill up with waste again. But still no dice. It has been five days. All three cats are using regular litter box number 3 that is kept upstairs. I scoop it daily b/c the last thing I need is to have three cats tinkling and pooping outside of the box. Is there any hope that my cats will take to the LR4?

I have four cats and a little robot 4. I got two bags of the Whisker brand (20lb each) and burned through one bag within a week. 1 bag = 1 cat according to their website, so four bags for a month would cost me $100/month. However, a friend had me try Pretty Litter a month or so ago and each bag was I think 6lbs each - I had two bags, so 12lbs each. I can buy three bags of the Pretty Litter (18lbs a month) for about $70. This somehow lasted me about three weeks to a month. This Whisker brand sucks and it still has clumps of waste stick to the inside.

That said, are there any other alternatives for odor control that is cheaper? Any testimonies to control odor and something that lasts a while? Or is Pretty Litter the best way to go? I did notice the crystal-like substance of Pretty Litter didn't scatter as much as the Whisker brand.

On the litter robot 5 pro is there a way to have the inside cam record motion instead of the outside? According to the whisker app history none of my 3 cats have 💩 in days (it is showing they are peeing). I bought the Sii pet cams for my litter robot 4's, which tracked and even notified you if the stool abnormal, but unfortunately those kept falling off which is one reason why I bought the 5. Other than that I love all 3 of my litter robots!

Had the litter robot since 3 weeks now, deep cleaned everything yesterday (again), all was good for half a day and this morning I am greeted by a horrible smell again. What am I doing wrong?

I have read so many threads on getting a skittish cat to use his litter robot 5. So I had it unplugged and he started using it, than would start a cycle if he wasn’t in the room. Of course he would run over and be curious about it.

But then be scared of it for the next few days again. So once again turned it off. Recently he hasn’t been going to the bathroom at all in litter robot or his old box (which is next to it), unless I manually drop him in there.

Sometimes he will go all night without using the box. Anyone else had this issue?
Cat is 11 years old!

This is my final attempt to fix this headache of a machine. It has been broken for about a month now. I have replaced the power cord, the motor, the entire DFI and pinch system, the bonnet connectors, and finally the main circuit board. After the main board replacement it worked for a day and a half and now has completely stopped working at all. It's just a solid yellow light but it has zero movement. Even with the globe out the motor is not moving at all. Any ideas before I return the circuit board and trash this thing? I cannot afford an upgrade right now so we'll just have to go back to scooping 😭

I've been thinking about getting one of these. Have a 22lb ginger tabby and I'm not sure if it would work or be safe for him to use. Anyone have experience with larger cats using these?

Hi all! I’m hoping someone can help me get to the bottom of this. I have had a LR4 for about two years. I added in a second cat six months ago. About 2-3 months ago I started noticing a gross smell when it is actively cycling. I notice the smell all the time so when the drawer or almost full or when I just recently cleaned it. I can’t even describe the smell but it isn’t urine or feces. I took apart the unit and did a deep clean. There was no urine that has pooled anywhere that i could see. That seemed to help slightly but not much. I’ve changed litter types also. Otherwise it doesn’t smell

Title. I can't believe they put all of my monthly and yearly data behind a paywall. Any one have a workaround for this?

We're actively putting our cats on a diet and this information would be quite helpful but I am not paying money for my own data that I bought the robots for. For reference, I have two litter robot 4s.

I have 2 Litter Robot 3s and I despise this machine. They are both super unreliable, the sensors tripping multiple times a day and not cycling properly and nothing we do fixes it.

It's still better than scooping with a traditional box for 4 cats, but it's frustrating to fight with it every day.

Is the LR4 better or am I better off with a different brand?

I have 3 cats. I am tired of not having them cycle and get stuck. Should I replace it with the 4 (kit from Costco) or the 5?

Also would one box suffice? I need to get the smell down in my house and cleaning them isn’t working. Any advice appreciated!

I lightly cleaned the interior lining of my litter robot 4 last weekend, and when I plugged it back in, it wouldn’t power on. After trying for a few minutes, I figured maybe a tiny amount of mist may have compromised the board. Like I literally just lightly sprayed the liner close up a few times, and the thing won’t power back on. Decided to take everything apart and inspect the circuit boards (laser and the one by the motor on the bottom), and they looked completely fine. Took them out anyways, cleaned them with 91% alcohol and let them dry all day.
Put them back in, and still won’t power on.

Tech support initially told me I need a new laser board, and today, when I followed up with the email exchange. another rep took over and told me I need a new power adapter from them, specifically from them. And if that doesn’t work I need to buy a new base for 400$ over a tiny amount of mist seeping through their liner?
Does anyone know what I actually need? Anyone have this issue?
