Hi, first time posting on here, I recently got into doing gel nails and I’ve spent a lot of time researching, I have invested in good products (all Kokoist) that should prevent contact dermatitis/allergies, but I can’t shake this terrible fear in my head about ruining my life with a serious allergy. The idea of not being able to get any more fillings for the rest of my life because of an acrylate allergy is seriously scary, I’m pretty sure I have OCD and I feel like I should just return everything I’ve gotten (all unopened so far because I wanted to properly research) because I feel like this might just not be worth it. It seems like acrylate allergies are inevitable, no matter how careful I am, and it might just not be worth the risk. Does anyone else struggle with this anxiety? Are there any nail techs who can vouch for the fact that they have carefully handled gels for years without developing an allergy? I’m obviously not licensed, but I feel like even if I were to be properly educated on everything, I would still manage to mess it up. I’m only painting press ons, I don’t plan on actually curing anything onto my nail, does that limit the risk?
