How do you handle "Between-Session Shopping"?

I have a question for the GMs who organize shopping trips outside of game time.

I’ve been GMing for about 1.5 years now with a group that is equally new to the hobby. During our last session, we spent two-thirds of our time just shopping. Even though I had prepared the shops in advance, it took forever, mostly because the players spent so much time reading item descriptions. And honestly, I’d rather spend my prep time on story and encounters than trying to anticipate every item they might want. I want to shift that responsibility to my players and move shopping entirely "off-screen."

How do you organize this? What tools do you give your players? Do you use a dedicated Discord channel for "downtime" commerce?

I’m familiar with the PF2e rules for settlements and item levels, but I’m looking for a method that doesn't overwhelm them with the massive item list in Pathfinder.

Also, unrelated to shopping: what else do you handle between sessions? Do you have off-session RP chats for other character business?

Thank you in advance for sharing your wisdom and experience!
