Hashimotos recently switched to NP thyroid
I was diagnosed with hashimotos in 2021 and tried the natural holistic route to treat it (with supplements and some kind of desiccated thyroid - can’t remember the brand) I ended up getting pregnant and switched to levothyroxine 88mcg and liothyronine 5mcg because the nature route didn’t work (and my tsh shot up to 34). my thyroid stabilized and have been normal range since
I decided to try again since I prefer not to take chemicals and saw a holistic physician who put my me 60mg of NP thyroid. After 6 weeks my lab results said my tsh is 17. my skin is dry, I have severe fatigue, dry skin, losing my hair, frequent dizziness and a sense of disorientation that greatly effects my day to day life. The doctor suggested to double the medication to 120mg. it seems like such a large jump, but since I was one two separate thyroid medications before I figured I may need a much higher dose to compensate.
I know they say it takes several weeks for everything to level out, but I don’t know how much of these severe symptoms I can take. There are points I can barely move or stand the disorientation gets so bad with waves of nausea and dizziness.
Any insights or advice would be greatly appreciated.
