Something better than pool noodles for cold start
I know n1 style exhausts sometimes have a silencer, but what about quad exits?

However you do it, with oem, Perrin, or overtake, the delay valve delete has 100%, and I mean 100% fixed all of my shifting woes. After having pitch stop, trans mount, dif bushings, positive shift bushings, driveshaft lockdown, THIS is the big one! It HUGELY improved my shifts now. I’m in Alaska and don’t have long drives usually so I’m thinking this is what has been constantly throwing my shift feeling off I’m guessing as the car warms up and interacts with the delay valve. No more crappy jolts and poor downshifts. I can shift noticeably faster through the gears and don’t have to hold the clutch at the bite point between them remotely as long. I’m certain there will be less clutch wear now but at the risk of maybe blasting it if I accidentally drop the clutch or act stupid. I’m so happy with it right now I’m fine with that trade off potential. Other people have mentioned how the delay valve makes the bite point vague. That is a description I agree with and it is now perfection with it gone in my opinion. Careful with spilling clutch fluid if you do this. Overtake has a video on YouTube. I followed that and it’s flawless. It just took me many attempts to fish out the spring bits using a flathead in the housing so I spilled quite a bit. Getting a ratchet on it is difficult at the angle it’s at and I had to very slowly use a regular wrench because I couldn’t really fit the huge (24mm or about that size) drive.
Finally the car feels GREAT and there’s nothing else it needs (lol).
I feel like since moving to this from stock and the usdm sti mufflers, it’s lost a lot of deep boomy rumble (different than uelh sounds. Not sure if that even makes sense to those without them) tone and I want that back. Was that due mainly to the axle backs or do you think it was from the resonated mid pipe or its much more complicated? I may reinstall the sti axle backs
I was installing it and it was hella difficult to get in even with grease. Now it won’t budge at all in any direction I yank it
