Maybe my situation is very rare since I didn't study any dentistry/prosthethics, but I've been working for more than 6 years in a dental lab designing ONLY bite splints and night guards, 25+- a day, using 3shape Splint Studio. At the start of this journey, I did some mistakes (and I still do from time to time like everybody else on our team). In one month I was already on my own going toe to toe with other coworkers that are in this industry for more than 15 years. I lacked the technical knowledge but I'm very familiar with 3D design since that's what I studied, using 3ds max and Blender, so for me 3shape Splint Studio was very flat compared to them. I even taught new people and explained some tips when designing splints.
Now I'm looking for a remote position doing the same (things change over time, and so do my needs), but I don't know how to find any opportunity or how to approach this situation. Every job I look for asks for experience designing crowns, bridges, and the list goes on, besides splints. Should I just give up and do something else? Is there really any room for someone like me in this industry?
