Hi all, I'm 30 or so hours in and somewhere between 50-100m net worth, almost entirely economic and centered in profit center alpha and 18 Billion. Almost all my assets are economic besides a couple of frigates and fighters.

Last night, I got a mission to board a VIG Donia for a nice payout and decided that it would be a good opportunity to learn how to board. After reloading the save a few times to learn how the process worked I got the shiny new ship but I destroyed every engine, turret, and shield gen to do so. I remember seeing that my rep with VIG had dropped to -30.

I have since done some reading and it seems like being at war with VIG with no military assets and a large mining operation in the sector next to windfall is... not ideal. Do I have any decent options to repair my rep? I did accept a pair of missions (patrol sector and board something) from them before pissing them off.

Also, are hardpoints really the major factor for rep loss in boarding? How can I board successfully without completely tanking my rep? Thanks very much for all advice!

EDIT - thanks very much guys, looks like my priorities when I get home are check the actual faction rep, start researching diplomacy and doing the free league quests, and if that fails do the missions for VIG. Cheers!
