I hate that my MIL says that my baby looks like her
Every single time I see this lady, she has to say that my baby looks just like her. My husband looks nothing like her, he is identical to his father. Our baby is my husband’s twin. She also doesn’t even think that she looks like my husband either which is INSANE. What is she seeing that I’m not??? I find just rude & inappropriate if someone says that a baby which is not even theirs looks like them. What does she expect me to say? Like yes of course MY baby looks just like you.
It irks me & honestly I can’t stand the way she interacts with her as well. If she starts crying, MIL won’t give her back to husband or I. She makes us have to basically take her out of her arms. We let her watch her for the day once (she’s 6 months old), MIL purposely kept her awake all day until 11pm. She actually thought that keeping her up would help her sleep better at night. So we were left with an overtired, miserable baby that took another 2 hours to fall asleep.
The relationship she has with my husband has enmeshment written all over it. She relies on him for her own happiness. Constantly oversteps & doesn’t respect boundaries whatsoever. I’ve caught her snooping around in our bedroom before, I had to put locks on certain rooms in OUR house because I don’t trust her when she is over.
Anyways, can someone think of a witty response to say back to her?? Sarcasm is welcomed!
