I woke up this morning and last my husband took his dad out to get money out of the ATM and a few groceries. After that he casually says 'If I am forced to go into a home I will take sleeping pills and kill myself. '
My husband was so stunned he didn't even know WTF to say to that. He was still awake having a hard time getting to sleep told me what his dad said.
I was shocked and angry that he would say that to his son. I told my husband he needs to call his sister and mom ( his parents are separated) and they can get through to his dad.
As I posted before we have been buying groceries and helping around the house for quite awhile even though we are both disabled and on a limited budget...but threatening to kill yourself because you don't like the idea of being in a nursing home is just awful.
Am I wrong to be so angry? My husband is so hurt and my FIL didn't even seem to notice that what he said had meaning.
