In need of advice

If not allowed I apologize. Recently I started back at the IRS after the DRP. I was hired back as a term employee. I realize that the union is in an odd position right now in the IRS and there is possibly nothing it can do to help me.

But recently I got ill and used all my time for that illness. I returned to work still sick for a day but the next I was worse then before. So I went to the doctor and was informed that my cold had developed into strep throat. I was given an antibiotic and told I would be contagious for 24 hours so I did not return to work for three days (5/13/26 through 5/15/26) Immediately after I left the doctor I sent a photo of the note  and a email that said I should not return for work for three days. today I was told that I’m denied LWOP on 5/22/26.

I was told I was denied because I did not anticipate my PTO correctly and it was my sole responsibility to do so. I feel ill sitting here writing this email and I’m am at a loss. Any advice is welcome. I thank you for your time.
