I'm looking to hit the road for the month of June and could use some insight. I feel I haven't seen much of Canada at all. Right now, I'm trying to choose between going north to Thunder Bay via Tobermory or head east toward the maritimes.

I enjoy hiking and hope to save some money by staying at campsites or crownland. I saw in another post the bugs are absolutely insane this time of year heading north.. how is it heading east?

Edit to add: starting point is southern ON.
