Checkpoint loop
Hey everyone,
I’m honestly out of ideas at this point and wondering if anyone has actually managed to solve something similar.
My Facebook account got disabled/deleted after my email account was hacked. The attacker used several of my accounts to send crypto scam messages. After multiple conversations with verified Instagram chat support and Facebook team emails, I had to verify my identity with a video selfie. Eventually they restored the account and confirmed via email (to my new email address) that they would send me a password reset link — but it never arrived.
Now here’s the weird part:
- I can log in with the new email
- I receive the Google/Auth code normally
- But after entering the code, Facebook redirects me to a facebook.com/checkpoint page
- Then it gets stuck in an infinite redirect loop until the browser or iOS app crashes
I’ve tried literally everything:
- old and new devices
- different browsers
- incognito mode
- clearing cache/cookies
- VPN on/off
- desktop + mobile
- app reinstall
- every troubleshooting step I could find online
Nothing works.
I’ve already opened around 5 support tickets. Either they completely misunderstand the issue or they reply with a one-line generic answer and close the case. It’s a 15-year-old account and I honestly find it ridiculous how impossible it is to reach competent support at Meta.
Has anyone here actually managed to fix this checkpoint redirect loop or recover their account in a similar situation?
Any help would be massively appreciated.
