Back porch shade color recommendations?

I have a west facing porch, and would like to block some heat from the summer sun, as well as some of the light, but not all. I assume a mocha or almond color would be best since it's between the black and white colors, but looking for recommendations even if it's not attractive. I've always been under the impression that darker colors will draw in heat, but block the sun - and lighter colors won't hold the heat but still allow some sun to shine through. My husband thinks a darker shade would be best, but im leaning towards a mocha or almond color. Please, someone chime in with some info. Thanks so much!

Recommendations to keep the waves?

I know I have fine hair, but I am unsure of the type. My guess is 1B or 1C, but I don't really know what that means or how to style. I've thought my hair is technically wavey because of how it dries. The 2 pictures I attached are 1-1.5hrs air drying. When it's 100% dry, it's flat and straightens out.

I only use one pump of Lange Satin Nectar, concentrating on the ends, and massaging the small amount left on the rest of my hair. I've always been bad about getting trims regularly and am at the beginning of the journey of making regular trims (last trim was April 11th, and I have an appt May 30th for my next) to grow my hair long again like I used to have.

I do plan to seek the advice of my hairstylist when I see her next, but was hoping to find info sooner. Should I wait and post again after its 100% dry for more clarity? Or does anyone have any recommendations on products or ways to care for my hair to keep the wave that looks to be natural?

Haven't seen it posted yet, so interested to see the details behind it once available. Until then, here is just a couple of pictures I got seconds after the accident.
