Is there anywhere in Salem that will give me a decent price on an inherited record collection? Or has anyone had better luck in Portland and where would you recommend up there?

I walked by and the shop looked closed and curious if its permanent. The place always seemed busy, so I was hoping they would make it.

We have rats (like everyone in South Salem). Need recommendations for pest control. Would love to support local businesses if possible. Bonus points if they text/email for quotes

Hi! I have thick, curly hair and I’m hoping to find a stylist in Salem (or at least closer than Portland).

I’m looking for someone that cuts hair primarily wet.

I have big feelings on “curly cuts” and cutting dry hair. I swear I’ve had the worst haircuts since leaving my college stylist in the midwest 7 years ago. The layers are always so choppy - they might look fine when I leave, but my hair is different every time it dries. I also swear the scissors are more dull when stylists only do dry cuts. Lastly, I don’t mind paying good money for a haircut. But over $100 for a trim just because my hair is curly? I’m about to side quest and go to beauty school so I can cut it myself 😭 please help a frustrated curly girly out.

I’ve heard that kitchen aid stand mixers should be maintenances and re-oiled every few years. I use mine a lot and don’t want it to break. Does anyone know of a place in town that can service small appliances like this? TIA.

I've contact every mason in Salem that I can find through online search, FB. Not one callback.

If you know a mason or someone that works with bricks, I have a relatively small job but need to get it done while the weather isn't in the gray funk.

So not only are the paid canvassers from out of state, some of them might not even know they now have to work for republicans?! That tracks with what someone said on another thread. For the love of God Salem Keizer, please vote for Michael Welsh and retire this man. He has done enough harm to entire generations.

I've tried a lot of gyms but nothing has stood out. I'm looking to join some kind of local fitness club, like people who go for runs together in the mornings or do yoga before work, something where people get together away from the pay-to-play environment, so to speak. I've looked all over this sub and in other online spaces local to the area but haven't found anything. Is this a thing anywhere?

Does anyone know of any bake sales or similar (where you can sign up to bring in homemade baked goods for an event) for a charitable cause in/near Salem? I enjoy occasionally baking for fun and have my food handler’s license. I’ve done a couple for animal/children’s charities recently and was wondering if people know of anything else! (I think these types of events are usually through churches or schools, but I’m not affiliated with any at this time.) Thanks (:
