Hi there.

Been living in the Salem area for around a year now. There is a tweaker home around a quarter mile from my place that has two dogs, one a little rat yapper and the other a medium sized dog. Around 4 times now I have walked by this house and the dogs have been running up and down both sides of the street, with no owner in sight. Every time the little one yaps while the meidum one gets close and shows teeth. Well this morning, the dogs were out again and the medium one actually bit me. Luckily was it was just one little nip, but it was enough to break skin and bleed a good bit. I have video of the dogs out on the opposite side of the road from the house, and a short video of the wound, but not a video of the bite as I wanted both hands free when I walked past the house.

I have left a voicemail to Marion county dog services right after about what happened. What can I do to make sure these dogs are taken away? They are a genuine safety threat to people who walk by, especially kids or elderly folk. Every neighbor i talk to around the area shares the same sentiment and tells me that this has been an issue for a long time. Sadly, the owner calls the dogs back in after they hear a human yelling at them, so they aren't out long enough usually for the authorities to show up if I called.

EDIT; I was prepared as much as I could’ve been last night. My one cat was drugged up and didn’t care. My other cat refuses medication and she’s been hiding, not eating, for a few days. I also noticed the stress it put on the cats I was taking care of… Because of the illegal fireworks.

But the biggest thing I want to do with this edit is to point out that I was in a moment of crisis, and I reached out as I’m taught to do, as we are taught to do.

If we don’t reach out when we’re in crisis and we spend that time alone that’s how suicide’s happen. And I’m not suicidal. I’m just saying that when my whole human side was backed up into a corner I was able to reach out and get the help that I needed.

Today is a new day tonight won’t be as bad and we will all survive.

None of that negate the fact that these are illegal fireworks put off in a neighborhood that is affecting so many people, so many animals, doing so much damage. End of story.

I hope mint takes over your yard and every time you go to the bathroom at night you stub a pinkie toe on furniture for the next 3 years.

Our original camping plans fell through for next weekend and we’re looking for a new spot for the family. Does anyone know of a dispersed camping spot near water? (Lake or river)Looking for a group of around ten people? We are find driving up to an hour or two. I know it’s a long shot but I figured this was the place to ask.

Hi! I’m temporarily staying in Eugene and I’ve noticed there’s really no Latinx dominated spaces here. Nothing against white folks, but just missing home lately. Any places yall recommend to visit in Salem (specifically nightlife)? Bailes, if those happen here would be cool too ty!

We heard a loud boom in south Salem.

My wife says it was a gunshot (she knows what they sound like). I think it was probably a transformer.

Also, anybody else notice a bad smell outside?

Hi everyone, ive recently gotten into pokemon but i have trouble finding packs ANYWHERE. the vending machines in east salem fred meyer are always being stalked by the same one guy who makes it impossible to get anything more than 1 or 2 packs. Im currently interested in buying a booster box one of one of the newer sets, or even an etb. What would be my best bet thats closest to market prices?

I apologize this happened about 20 mins ago but I just got service. Black and brown puppy maybe a Hoberman or Rottweiler running down Cordon near Silverton. Had a pink collar on. I tried really hard to follow without scaring the pup further but it was so so fast. I also tried to call non emergency and nothing. I really hope someone helps the doggy it makes me so sad.

Did anyone see the flyover yet? They were supposed to be flying over around 11:50 but idk if we just missed them or they didn’t flyover my area…

In the mid 90’s does anyone recall the name of the store that was near the food court by the end of the escalator that sold skater-ish clothes and shoes? My brother and I visited frequently but cannot recall the name.

A semi truck did the thing that the dozen or so signs told them not to do, he is currently going reverse down River Rd backing away from the train bridge, with stopped police escort (they are stopping traffic a quarter mile back, letting the truck back up, going around, repeat...I was lucky enough to have just missed it on the way out and saw the above on the way back to Salem).

If you are headed to Independence, take Skyline all the way to that steep hill, or 22 to Rickreall(?) ish, then south to Independence.

I just moved (three months ago) to a neighborhood near North high school and now I understand why certain fireworks are f*cking illegal in Oregon. I have heard bombs before I know exactly what they f*cking sound like and whoever is setting fireworks right outside my house you might get the cops called on you in the morning, not by me, but by one of my neighbors because I don’t know who you are, but the fact that my house, my neighbor’s house, my other neighbors house, the multiplexes, the fact that these buildings are literally shaking and people are f*cking terrified should concern you and yourself because you should be a normal individual with common courtesy. Also they’re are ex-military individuals in my neighborhood who are fucking terrified because you’re f*cking fireworks sound like a bomb going off in the middle of our road. (These have gone off since 9 o’clock and they are still going off and it has just hit 11 o’clock.)

It was bright pink with iron cross decals and iron cross shaped mirrors. I was just curious if anyone had anymore info

Any recommendations for where to get the best fries around Salem?? Love any kind of fancy fries or cheese fries or anything out of the ordinary!!
