i've always downloaded steamrip's files with download managers, mostly JDownloader2, i've never had any problems until recently, instead of showing me a clear download file i get a handful of folders named stuff like "xz"/"api"/"blocked by..." etc, and this is for all links and sites, i've tried FDM but that just doesn't even recognize downloads and selects some bs .html stuff from the main page, what is going on and how can i fix it? i don't like downloading stuff from the browser because it always says connection error and i end up wasting my life waiting

i know, Steamrip is safe and all, but MegaDB looks like straight cut malware, with porn ads and so many unnecessary steps for downloads... not to mention chrome automatically blocks anything i try to download from that thing and stuff like Jdownloader2 can't even grab the download link, it just grabs a lot of spam and i honestly haven't been brave enough to trust it at all, though a lot of games i want to download for some reason only have MegaDB links, can someone who uses MegaDB regularly tell me if i actually need to keep worrying or if i'm just an idiot?
