Hi everyone,

With 2 kids and a dog we can't keep up with everything and vacuum as much as is needed in our house so we're looking to get one to make things a little cleaner in-between bigger bi-weekly cleans.

Our main floor is all wood floors with large, low-profile rugs in the dining and living room plus a runner in a hallway. There is a slight threshold to get into the kitchen as well with a little upslope.

We keep the floors mostly clean of toys and such, but we might miss one from time to time. Our dog is also only 20 pounds so we're not dealing with long pet hair.

So our priorities are as follows:

• Ability to go from wood floors to rugs
• Ability to clear the kitchen threshold though I can just pick it up if needed (call it 0.5" incline)
• Good mopping (doesn't need to be great)
• Won't get plugged up with hair (pet hair, wife has long hair)
• Good obstacle detection (doesn't need to be top of the line)
• Budget: $400-$600
