And it's not because it was bad. It was because they made it with enough effort that they probably regretted ever actually made it in the first place.

Before i go further, I'm going to ask you guys how many games you guys played where it offer gender option while also being heavily story-driven? Because let's admit, most gender option in games boiled down to mostly just changing the pronouns of the MC in the story. While the overarching story and gameplay mechanic pretty much stays the same whether you picked Male or Female.

Atlus created the standard for gender option so high that they shot themselves in the foot the moment they greenlight FeMC for P3P. Because now if they actually want to explore to bring gender option again in future games, they have to at least match the quality of P3P's.

As for why the exclusion of FeMC in P3R, I want to offer some speculation. It was because of time constrain. I'm pretty sure the development for P3R started around late 2021 or early 2022. If you're out of the loop, reminder that it was a time where everything became complicated because of certain virus. Looking at the comparison for P3R and P4R, you can feel which game were being developed without virus outbreak looming behind the development cycle.

Keep in mind, I am mainly discussing about having gender option in games and not Atlus not making a whole game with FeMC in mind. That's just a different topic to discuss altogether.
