Recurring nighttime speed collapse: 800 Mbps plan drops below 10 Mbps
I need help escalating a recurring intermittent internet speed issue. I pay for a 800 Mbps Xfinity Internet plan, but I repeatedly get under 10 Mbps, mostly at night during peak hours and sometimes during the day. This same issue has happened before at this address.
I’ve already been through multiple phone agents and keep getting put on hold or transferred without resolution. A daytime tech visit may not reproduce the issue because the worst speeds usually occur at night.
I’m asking for this to be treated as recurring intermittent speed degradation, not basic Wi-Fi troubleshooting. Please help open or escalate a repair ticket to check possible node congestion or capacity problems.
Please also make sure the ticket notes that the issue is mostly at night when Internet use is high and should not be closed solely because a daytime speed test looks normal.
Update: I’m on hold with Xfinity tech support now. 5 Xfinity tech support phone reps (they just keep transferring me without notice) have told me that if I upgrade to the 1000 Mbps service then my nighttime speeds of less then 10 Mbps will be resolved. Since I’ve been on the phone with tech support they’ve also sent me 12 16 email messages and 7 text messages about Xfinity’s NOW streaming service which I never asked about or have any interest in.
