[WINDOWS] [2010] Trying to find an old Windows/DOS side-view maze game from around 2010

I’m trying to find a game I played as a kid around 2009–2012 on a Windows PC. The game itself may have been older (possibly DOS/shareware/emulator), but I played it on Windows.

What I’m 99% sure about:

The game was 2D and viewed from the side

It was not a scrolling platformer

Each room was a single screen, and moving to another area switched to another room/screen (kind of like Adventure or Binding of Isaac room transitions)

The game was maze/labyrinth based with multiple paths:

go up = different room

go left = different room

etc.

Very simple/minimal graphics

I remember mostly plain backgrounds and simple black platforms/shapes.

You controlled a tiny character

I think you could shoot small projectiles/plasma “dots”

There may have been a UFO/flying enemy that suddenly appeared and killed us, and as kids we could never get past it.

We used to call it the “Spiderman game” because I vaguely remember the character being red/blue, but I could be completely wrong about that part

What it was NOT:

Not 3D

Not a modern platformer

Not graphically detailed

Probably not randomly generated

Not top-down (I originally thought it was, but I’m now pretty sure it was side-view)

Games people already suggested that are NOT it:

Berzerk

Commander Keen

Dangerous Dave

Duke Nukem

Cosmo’s Cosmic Adventure

N

Lode Runner

Prince of Persia

Montezuma’s Revenge

Any ideas?
