I (26F) have been taken off cab 0.25mg once a week after being on it for 7 weeks total. First time trying it, and it seemed like everything was going well until the 5th/6th week. My symptoms were getting better by the week, then all of a sudden severe nausea, fainting episodes (hit my head one of the times), dizziness, and the severe headaches/migraines I had before cab came back. I could barely even get out of bed to use the washroom during this time.
The 7th week I was on cab, I called my endocrinologist clinic, and they had a last-minute opening, so she gave me a call back. She said to immediately stop, and we will check and see if in 8 weeks how my body responds to being off cab.
For reference, I have a 2mm prolactinoma on the left lobe of my pituitary. My prolactin levels went from 51 to 3 during this time.
My concern is that I might not tolerate going onto medication again. I've been trying to talk with my endo about a dozen studies I've read (published medical research papers) about doing the surgery on my small prolactinoma. But she pushes back, saying they don't do surgery on small tumors.
Has anyone here had surgery for a tumor under 10mm?
Or has anyone had to go off cab because of severe side effects? If so, what medication worked for you?
