I get milia like an eye mask. I don't wear a sleep eye mask, but that whole region is where I tend to get milia, and especially on my eye lids. I have incredibly dry, sensitive skin. I've gone to a derm, but the prescription and recommended products did not help even after a year of use. She told me that milia is much more common in people with dry skin, and because of my chronic illness and medications, as well as genetics, I have insanely dry skin. She said that it might just be a case where I have to get them lanced every few months. I live in the US (healthcare coverage here is a nightmare), I'm medically disabled, and we're lower income, with two teens. I cannot afford to get them lanced several times a year.
I'm talking, skin so dry my lips crack and bleed if I wear matte lipsticks for an afternoon. My skin flakes and peels if I don't use the most hydrating products available. I can't handle peels, even the mildest ones, because I get horrific rashes that cause secondary milia and severe skin peeling. I have to put lotion on my body 3-4 times a day or I get super itchy and my skin get flaky. Again, been to a derm, not a lot I can do about it other than drink a gallon of water a day and use barrier supporting, super hydrating and moisturizing products. I stopped using the prescriptions after a year and switched to K and J beauty brands, and while my skin dryness is way more manageable, I'm still getting milia like crazy that stick around for years.
I'm not exaggerating, they last for years. I have several of them on my eye lids, under eyes, and the sides of my face around my eyes that are all different "ages" and some have been there for about 2 years now.
I've tried retinoid eye creams, no eye creams, exfoliating, no products around my eyes, prescription products, you name it. I'm just looking for anyone who has a similar experience that found something even a little bit helpful. I can't afford to go get them lanced anymore. I've been dealing with this for 6 years now and I'm started to get super frustrated about it. Any product recs would be greatly appreciated.
