Multi-location service business?
I currently run a small advertising and marketing agency, and our Google Business Profile is set up as a service area business since most of our work is either remote or done by traveling to clients. Right now the business is heavily optimized for Southern Illinois, and the local SEO there has been performing really well.
Over the next year or two, I’m planning to move to California. The agency is currently just me, but I’m planning to hire a team and continue serving Southern Illinois even after the move. Because of that, I’m considering setting up a second GBP in California once I’m established there, while keeping the Southern Illinois profile active as its own location/service area.
The goal would basically be:
Southern Illinois GBP continues serving that market
Fresh Long Beach California GBP serves the new market
Same agency/brand, just two legitimate operating locations
Separate phone numbers for each location
Real addresses/access to both locations but both service area business with no customer facing location.
I’m trying to do this the right way and avoid anything that could trigger suspensions or guideline issues.
Has anyone here successfully done something similar with a service area business? Anything specific I should watch out for when managing two locations under the same agency brand?
