Im having this issue where I add a media file to my timeline, and when I move the playhead to just before the media is shown to start, it begins to play before the playhead reaches the file. Whenever Im moving the playhead and I click and hold, a different media file is shown then if i unclick over the same point.

Edit: im on MacOS, this also only became a problem once i tried to edit part of my timeline

Exactly as the title says. Im trying to have one video play through, and as one part of the video expands, it reveals a second clip. Similar to the image above but the shape is more like a scribble thats been coloured in, so would be difficult to use a default shape as an outline.
