TL;DR - V6 Camaro engine siezed 5 years ago at 55k miles. Swapping to an LS V8 to make more power for around the same price. Looking for advice on where to begin and things to look out for. Have never done this before, and it will all be DIY. Car does have a manual transmission. Unsure of wiring conditions, probably junk. Would like to see if I can get it running for less than $10,000. The cheaper the better, but I still want it reliable.

So here is a huge summary of the situation I'm in:

Car i bought when I was 17 broke down - seized engine from timing chain breaking. Its been kept in storage for 5 years or so. Just bought a foreclosed house, so not a ton of money to put into it. I've done smaller engine work before, as well as minor vehicle repairs, but never an engine swap or tear down.

My question is where would I begin? I'm thinking about putting in a 5.3 to save money, but am open to other options. Looking to try to make around 350 to the wheel at a minimum. If I do a 5.3 swap, is there some specialized wiring harness i need so everything still works? Do i need to get different sensors/electronics? I know I can google, but I'm hoping to possibly find more specialized advice on here. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated. Again, trying to make 350 to the wheel at a minimum while saving as much money as possible. I want to get away from that cadillac engine and put in something that i can improve over time. Maybe over the course of the next 10 years or so I'll push her towards sitting between 500-750, but thats a long ways away financially. I'd like to get this done for under $10,000 and have it be reliable.
