So I get blood work every 3 months to monitor things while on diamox. I was on 1,000mg but increased it to 1,500 which isn't a big increase by any means. However, my recent blood work shows everything is in normal range and looks good except my bicarbonate. It dropped from 20 on 1,000 to 16 now. Is that a big concern? My primary just upped my sodium bicarbonate tablets from 3 a day to 4 and pepcid ac twice a day cuz I was having horrific reflux. Is that enough to get me closer to normal? Should I be worried about needing a hospital in the future for metabolic acidosis?
