Currently finishing up my first year of post-secondary (with only spring term left) as I am attempting to meet all the pre-requisite requirements to get into PharmD. Had some complications with registration and unfortunately have been waitlisted for a class I need in-order to transfer (Microbiology). For some peace of mind, do people typically drop these classes before waitlist closes? I know quite a few people who need the class as well and are taking it the same time as I am. I just want to be certain I could get a spot before waitlist closes in August. Another one of my concerns is my GPA. I’m currently sitting at a 3.6 with hopes that spring term will bump my overall GPA up to a 3.7. However, I’ve been hearing from a lot of people I know that the average GPA of those who get accepted is a 3.8 and above. Do I still have a chance? I know I got one more year left but considering what my course load will look like and the issues with my registration, I’m starting to doubt if I’ll be able to get into the program.
