Confused on what I have and what to do
To start off. I had a medium/large pink painful lump on my armpit a few months ago. So I go to urgent care, they tell me it's an abscess and send me home with oral and topical antibiotics. They said come back if those don't help in a week. So I take them and soon enough it completely clears away.
So now I have another medium/large pink painful lump on my inner thigh to groin crease. Looks really similar to the last one I had. But now I'm confused since I'm reading that abscess don't heal from antibiotics alone so the last thing wasn't an abscess? So this isn't either? What is it then? And I still have the topical antibiotic so not sure if I should just use that and see if it helps?
Edit: Mupirocin is the topical that helped clear the last one that I still have. Don't remember the oral medication name.
