I have a one-year old and I'm of course already thinking ahead to her education. I'm proud of my public school education, though I grew up in an area with schools of a better reputation than around here, and I want what's best for my daughter.
My question regarding School Choice is, is there anything at all I can or should be doing now (short of moving to the desired district)? It seems like the only thing to do is to fill out the school choice application the year before the start of the academic year and see what happens.
For what it's worth, we live downtown and are currently zoned for Sanders Clyde. We both work right next to Memminger, which is where we'd love to send our daughter.
Related, she's consistently able to put a round ball into a circle, so we think she might be a genius.
