Judges

How do we feel about judges with little to no performing careers being judges? Going right into teaching (to then judge) is confusing to me, how do you teach dancers how to perform when you didn’t? I’m asking kindly, and out of pure curiosity. Some of the best judges from nationals last week were the ones with bios full of performances (and teaching as well). I notice more and more people have become social media famous for judging and teaching, but their resume doesn’t connect. They’re just speaking lots of words but I’m not sure they can back a lot of it up. I love when judges tell my team tips from someone who has actually worked professionally - there is so much knowledge there. Thoughts?
