Hi there, a close friend of mine suddenly cut contact very harshly at the end of February and reached out to me about two weeks ago to let me know that she was in trouble.
She had started dating an old friend of hers who - has choked her unconscious (strangled) both in a sexual nature and in general, drowned her in a bathtub and in a pond, refers to her only as ‘worthless cunt’, has threatened to kill her should she go to authorities, and has threatened to kill her parents should she leave and/or go to authorities.
She said she thought she was going to die multiple times, and this had all happened in about seven weeks since she started seeing him. He possesses illegal firearms as well. She said she thought she’d have to run away, change her identity, move to a different country. I suggested authorities (foolish of me to escalate like that) and she said she’d be putting her parents’ lives at risk. She sent me images of bruising but had to block me for obvious reasons (he possesses her phone at all times when they are together).
I have no way to safely contact her.
She lives four hours from me. I know her home address but not his (for potential reporting), and she currently is living with him. No one else knows about this, unfortunately she doesn’t have many friends, is an only child, and her parents do not know either. She is essentially completely isolated from the outside world right now.
What can I do, if anything? I would really appreciate advice from people who have been in this sort of situation.
