I was told from the former owner that he was taken out of a hoarder situation and according to the paperwork I have, was then transferred to a rescue and then adopted by his former owner. He last saw a vet about 19 months ago with the rescue and got heartworm tested, vaccines and neutered. He didn't see a vet when he was with his former owner.
I got him yesterday and want to get him insurance. If he has health problems found at his next vet visit, would those be preexisting?
I checked all of the pet insurances and the cheapest were Lemonade, Odie, Healthy Paws and Pet's Best. I've heard good things about Trupanion but they were $100/mo more than these for the same coverage. Of these, are any generally considered to be better?
I think he's about 5-1/2 years old, and a chihuahua mix.
Thanks!
