Unaccompanied Pet Travel via 2Go
Hi everyone! Sharing my 4 cats' travel experience via 2Go from Siargao to Manila. Yes, they have this kind of service! You may read about it here.
So basically, my 4 cats travelled on their own from Siargao to Manila (this is almost a 60 hour journey) and the route is Siargao-Butuan-Ozamis-Manila
I have previously travelled with them from Manila to Butuan (via 2Go as well) but because of prior commitments, I wasn't able to travel with them during this trip.
Requirements:
- Pet Vax Record (They need to be vaccinated sa rabies!)
- Vet Health Certificate (You can get this from their vet, you need the vax record showing that they have anti rabies)
- BAI Permit (Once you get the Vet Cert, you can apply for this, the two previous documents are needed for this)
Timing is crucial as these documents/requirements expire. So dapat makuha mo siya na sakto sa days of travel ng cats/pets niyo.
How much was it?
- I paid 4699 per pet per crate (Medium sized) and the price depends on the size of the crate (so if bigger pets like dogs, mas mahal siya)! The price is cheaper if accompanied pet or may kasama but in my case, dahil unaccompanied pet sila, mas mahal. This price was also cheaper than hiring a pet transport service.
What did my cats bring?
- Food enough for the journey (I included both dry and wet food + treats)
- Food bowls
- Water
- Litter box and Cat Litter (Yes, the designated person will let them out of their cage para maka wiwi and poop sila!)
- Other items such as wet wipes, towel, alcohol, and cloth
I packed two tote bags for them. One for their food and essentials and the other one para sa cat litter and sand.
To be honest, I think this a good way to transport your pets and for me what eased my mind was the assurance that they have a designated area na well ventilated and they have a designated person na magpapakain sa pets and maglilinis ng crate nila. I was also able to meet these people before they left!
I also gave an extra tip to the person handling them and I took their number and they were able to update me every now and then. Please note na walang signal masyado sa boat so hindi sila masyado nakakapag-update but it's honestly better than having zero updates.
Overall experience was 10/10. I was the one who brought them to the boat and my partner picked them up in Manila! Sharing this experience kasi wala ako masyadong nababasa about this topic here on reddit. I hope this helps! 💕
