What's the best places to solo travel as a woman this humid and rainy season?

Hi! I'm thinking about trying solo travel for the first time and would love to hear your recommendations.

If you have traveled solo around Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao around this time and season (humid/rainy), where did you feel the safest and had the best experience? (For women, and maybe as a woman).

I'm looking for places that are safe and easy to get around, beginner-friendly for solo travelers, worth visiting even for a weekend, and budget-friendly is a plus!

I would also like to know where you stayed and how to get around. Was it easy for other travelers? What made you love the place?

Open to beaches, mountains, cities, or anywhere with good food and scenery. Thanks so much in advanced!

Planning Coron trip. Is Calauit Safari worth it for adults?

Hi! I am planning our itinerary for Coron and I am having second thoughts if we will push through with Calauit Safari tour. We will be staying for quite long and trying to maximize our time in Coron.

We are planning to DIY Calauit Safari and will not include the black island which is usually kasama sa Calauit Safari tour.

I saw that the drive going to the drop off point going to Calauit Safari is 2 hrs. We will be renting car for this and just wondering if it is worth it pa puntahan ng mga trentahin? Will we enjoy it or is there something new that we can see/experience na wala sa mga zoo dito?

TIA :)

Air asia cabin luggage

Need ko lang po sana comments. I have a domestic flight with Air Asia. With dimensions supposed to be 56cm x 36cm x 23cm. Pasok kaya to? Yung height kasi parang lagpas ng 1cm kasama yung steady handle. So far everything okay except dun sa height. Please share your comments kung need ko na po ba mag add ng bagahe. For reference, yung maleta is Ciaotravel basic from SM yung 999 pesos.

Thank you

Visiting family without the expectation of paying for everyone

I’ve rented a large house and hired a car. I’ve payed for meals and excursions. I do so out of love and genuinely want the best for my family. But if I go to someone’s house, I’m still expected to buy handa for everyone.

I’ve flown two family members into Manila and got them their own Airbnb near mine, and they never offer to take us for a meal or even just pay for their own. People ask to visit or see me and I believe they do so with the expectation that I’ll be paying.

I want to spend time with my family without being expected to pay for everything and everyone. My brother was just here for a month and didn’t get in contact with anyone. I totally understand why he did so, but it meant for a very awkward conversation when my family asks me why.

Just want to hear from others because I’m feeling really disheartened being here.

Puerto Galera - WFH-friendly accommodations

Hello, planning a trip to Puerto Galera this August long weekends. Baka may ma-recommend kayong accommodations with reliable internet connection. Plus if beach front/near the beach.

Parang wala kasi ako makita online sharing trip experiences of remote workers in PG.

The only place na asa iti is Garin farm.

So.. is Iloilo goods na igrab na lang or should we rent a car?
Ano pa pwede masuggest na try/puntahan for a weekend trip?

PS ayaw na namin lumayo like sa Iloilo nalang kasi literal na weekend trip lang to.

Looking for anniversary staycation/trip recommendations this July (₱10k budget all-in)

We're planning to celebrate our anniversary this July and our budget is around ₱10k all-in (accommodation, food, and other expenses).

Our location is Laguna, so nasawa na kami sa Tagaytay haha.

We're looking for a place na either:

Beach or beachfront

Nature view (mountains, lake, forest, etc.)

Ang concern lang namin is July siya, so baka maulan or may bagyo. 😅 Kaya iniisip namin kung mas okay ba mag-beach or mag-nature getaway na lang.

If may ma-recommend kayong place na perfect for couples, peaceful, may magandang view, and sulit sa budget, pa-share naman.

Advice on a flight from Siargao to Manila via Cebu with Cebu Pacific - all flights cancelled?

Dear r/phtravel,

so, I was supposed to fly on the 28th from Siargao to Manila via Cebu with Cebu Pacific. They canceled that flight and rebooked me on two later flights the same day, arriving in Manila well after midnight.

I then contacted customer service via the chat on the Cebu Pacific website. They told me that the flights they had rebooked me on were no longer available and that I should instead take a flight on the 29th, which is far from ideal.

However, Google Flights and their own website still show the flights I was rebooked on as available, and there are also other flight options on the 28th.

Does this seem like some sort of trick to move me to the following day, or what would you do in this situation?

Thank you in advance!

Best
Mike

Seeking recommendation for family trip with young kids

We’re a family with a 7 year old and 2 year old. Looking to spend a week in the Philippines during Xmas.

We’re looking for a place where I can go scuba dive during the daytime and the wife can chill at the beach or resort. The older kid can snorkel but the younger kid would just be with the wife and I. I was looking at Palawan but there’s such wide variety of options that I welcome any suggestions. It also doesn’t have to be Palawan if there are more suitable places for families with young kids that hits all the points above.

Thank you!
