Baguio trip this weekend - Yes or Pass?

Ok pa rin ba bumyahe Manila to Baguio this weekend? Not sure kung ok ang mga lugar na dadaanan. Ok lang kung medyo maulan wag lang gaya nung mga nakaraang araw na grabe ang ulan at baha.

Share your thoughts please. Thank you po

Why do some men feed you with future ideas that they can't fulfill?

It's been months but I still find myself asking this question over and over. I know I won't be able to get a clear answer but I just want to get this off my chest in hopes that I can finally move forward and find joy in meeting new people again.

He was so good with words. His actions were also impressive in the beginning and so I learned to trust him, his timing and his future plans. But after some time, I couldn't see how his plans would pan out. His explanation just raised more and more questions. I wanted to trustt him but his words and actions don't add up. And I'm not the type of person who would willingly put myself in an uncertain situation. I felt like I was only a placeholder. Someone disposable if he couldn't fulfill his plans.

Where do some men get the audacity to offer a future life with them, only to disappoint you in the end? Why can't we be truthful to each other, let us know if you're struggling, if you need help and if you're not yet ready to fulfill those promises? Why leave us in the dark until we grow tired of the lack of progress and communication? Is it really that hard?

Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife Center

Has anyone been to this park and witnessed Girlie the Philippine Eagle? I've been wanting to see a Philippine Eagle in real life and I heard there's one here in Manila.

Is there a good chance that I would be seeing her upon visiting the park?

I did not want to get married when I was younger

Marriage or getting into a relationship used to be a revolting concept to me when I was younger. I think my reaction back then was mainly due to lack of fairly good examples in front of me as I was growing up. I also hated the fact that women suffer so much from getting birth and from taking care of the kids, the house and her husband. I thought I'd be better off living alone and minding my own business. I didn't feel scared to grow up alone at all.

Now that I've grown up (28 y/o as of writing), I've had a sudden shift in mindset. Maybe it's divine intervention or some type of a trauma response that I've started craving for human connection more than I used to allow. I've been carrying a lot of burdens throughout these years with almost no help from my family and every now and then I can't help but wonder if there'd be someone to cheer me up and give me motivation to handle these burdens. I'm not looking for a savior or someone to take all these burdens away from me (it's impossible), but just someone who wants to hear my story, understand me and keep me standing on my feet. Someone whom I can also share my strengths with and nurture with love and care that I am so much capable of.

But I know better than to be in a haste. I don't want to tie myself up to someone undeserving or inconsistent. And I don't want to get into a relationship without addressing my issues that could affect my future partner.

I hope that those who genuinely seek love can find someone they deserve and that we don't end up with a person who'd make you question what love truly is.

Self-reflection only. Not an invitation to woo me with nonsense.

Ongoing read: The Road Less Travelled

Reading this feels like going to therapy myself (though I'm not saying to rely on this book alone. Consult an expert, if necessary).

I'm only 17% through the book as of writing but it has already made me reflect a few times as I relate its insights to my own life experiences.

I made it a goal to invest in self-discovery and personal development this year and I think this is one of the books that everyone should read at least once in their lifetime.

Probably one of my most evocative recent realizations that this book has further engraved in my mind is the importance of PARENTING in human development. Our parents are our early role models during our formative years. But not all of us are fortunate enough to have parents who are well-prepared and emotionally-equipped for parenting. Some children grow up not receiving enough attention, security and guidance from their parents, leaving them with broken trust and difficulties forming lasting relationships with others.

I wish the older generation understand our younger generation's sentiments on parenting. Raising a human and being a parent are two different things that equally require enormous responsibility. How can we raise children of our own if we are still healing from the trauma passed down through generations? And not everybody has the luxury of time, freedom and financial security to prioritize healing.

To those who have read this book, can you share the most valuable lessons you took away from it?

I also welcome book recommendations for personal development.

Thank you! 💗

The pain of leaving your workmates

I just want to let this out because this isn't being talked about enough. I'm planning on submitting my resignation this last week of June and I have already given my manager a heads-up.

I got a pretty nice job, with a good position in the company, decent pay and very good work environment. That's why I chose to stay with the company for a long time kahit na mg responsibilities sa family kept building up to the point na di na rin kaya ng income ko ang mga bayarin.

Now I got an offer 2x my current salary and I'm considering it. It would really help my family pay off our bills. It's just that... thinking about leaving my workmates makes me feel so sad. They are great people, mababait, smart, professional and chill lang kasama. I'm going to miss them - the chitchats during work, the endless rants about our clients, my manager who gave me autonomy and just let me do my own thing at work.

Haayyy... if only financial weren't a problem, I would choose to stay. Magstart na naman ako sa new company. Alone. Mataas nga sahod but my social life would definitely suffer...hopefully sa umpisa lang. I just pray I get to build a solid network in and outside work. I feel lonely and a bit anxious. Anyone here who has gone through the same phase? I know it'll pass but the pain has just started

SKL Meta Algorithm is crazy creepy

This happened today pero I've had other instances na in the past.

Meron akong throat spray (Difflam yung name) that I bought back in Feb or March. Di ko na sya nagagamit lately tapos today, I noticed na ubo ng ubo father ko. So I grabbed my throat spray from my room and handed it to him while nasa sala. All I said was gamitin nya yung throat spray at ispray nya sa bibig nya, dahan dahang lunukin.

Then after a couple of hours, while scrolling through FB, bigla kong nakita advertisment for Diflam 😵 I never searched for it, not even prior to buying it kasi nasa preciscription ko yun at sinunod ko lang.

Marami pang ibang instances. It seems like they're listening sa convo or something.

Just peaceful.

Taken last month. I went on a solo travel to Japan for the third time.

I'm not afraid to go solo but sometimes I wish I have someone to share beautiful moments like this with. I have a lot stories to tell but I just keep it to myself 😄

What are these dark flat spots behind my ear? It just feels normal

I discovered this in 2023 and nobody else notices it until I tell them. I didn't have any negative skin reactions or condition prior to this and I can't tell when I exactly got them. They are flat and they don't feel anything different. Just a cluster of spots that only appear behind my right ear. None on the left.

I treat my hair once a year so that's the only possible source that I could think of since my scalp and the skin around it can feel itchy when I get my hair treatment. But I don't have these spots on my left side.

How to get more online sales?

Hello everyone, I am a small business owner. I just do it on the side so I don't fully rely on my business to earn income. My full-time job is paying well but I still want to try selling products online (Japanese products to be specific) to gain hands-on experience in selling products.

I created accounts in FB, IG, threads and occasionally posting on this app as well. My biggest following is in IG (mostly organic) but I don't have a lot of following in other accounts. Ayoko rin sana magboost kasi sayang ang pera but I hope to hear an expert advice kung pano magkaron ng more engagement sa soc med.

I just started my buy and sell business and since I'm the only one who manages it as a side hustle, what's the best approach kaya? Does posting actively help? How do I reach my target market? Does boosting actually help?

What I've done so far:

- Post in buy and sell FB groups

- Follow pasabuyers on IG (some of them follow back)

- Use relevant hashtags

What I haven't tried:

- Follower bost

- Engagement boost

- Asking another person to help me manage my socmed

Target:

- Cater to small number of customers for now. Willing to scale up when demand goes up

- Net profit enough to cover basic house bills every month (like electricity and water)
