Food Business Refund Policy

Hi, I am an owner of home-based small food business.

We recently encountered a customer who wants a refund for a food she purchased last week. For context, report had been escalated after 8 days and all products had been consumed.

May I ask if there's a legal policy for customer and business owners return/refund?

Reason for refund: she reported that the dessert tastes like "ulam" or fish oil.

Hello po. I'm a beginner to this and gusto ko din syang i-sideline.

Need pa ng budget for that.

KUNG may mga groups po kayong alam sa FB ng mga anik2x please comment nyo po and if you have tips for this. Thank you in advance for your suggestions! (Btw I sell these for 60-80 pesos, most items ko ay 60 pesos. Pag hindi customized, 50 only.)

Additional Ideas to boost my bigasan business

I have a bigasan (retail) store in a heavily populated baranggay which earns decently. I wanted to make use of the remaining space in the block we rented to boost our earnings. What other items or additional income generating ideas you can suggest?

Trying my luck hereee! 🥹

I recently resigned from my corporate job to pursue my baking business full-time. After years of working in the corporate world, I finally decided to take the risk and give my little home-based bakery a real shot.

It’s definitely scary leaving the stability of a regular job, especially when you’re starting from scratch and still figuring things out as you go. But I’ve always wanted to see where this could go if I actually gave it my all. 🤎

I’m based in Muntinlupa and currently taking orders for cookies, cakes, banana loaves, sourdough, and other baked goodies. Everything is baked from home and made in small batches.

If you’re from Muntinlupa/Alabang or nearby and would like to support a small business, I’d really appreciate it. Even an upvote, comment, share, or simply checking out my page means a lot. 🥹

Hoping this little business of mine grows enough to become my full-time thing. Manifesting! ✨

Don't know how to scale my salon as a 20 year old owner/hairstylist/nail artist

I have a small 18sqm salon plus 12sqm 2nd flr space (15k rent)

Cons: in a hidden location near the public market (not my target market) in a city in the south. My location does not have any parking which my clients complain a lot about because they mostly have cars since my prices are on the premium side (up to 5k for luxury hair treatment, 1k min. russian manicure, 2.5k semi permanent brows/lips, etc.)

Pros of current location: free 2nd flr space (for spmu and lash services), i live there for free too plus free food for me and all my artists everyday courtesy of relatives. Basically i dont have any personal and other expenses.

plan in next few months: i will train to learn more high earning services: hair extensions and spmu. Actually deciding on slowly phasing out nails and lashes in the future since prone to backjobs and artists are unreliable

In a year or two: Eventually i want to branch out to neighboring more urbanized city and rent in a commercial space with parking for better visibility/convenience. But i fear my current branch will crumble since i am the bottleneck as manager and artist. Also comm space rent will likely be 40k plus utilities plus artist salaries and other expenses dunno if i can afford in future

I currently earn about 50-60k net most months except december (i earn 200k+). My fixed monthly expenses (45k) are 15k rent 5k electricity 15k stocks/maintenance 10k social media manager. All my artists are at 60 40 pure comission. I pay myself 15k a month.

Im yet to try fb ads to see how much it will help with client acquisition. Waiting for influencers to submit their videos.

Currently averaging 2 clients a day for premium services (hair, russian mani) ticket price average at 2.5k minus supplies (150+, 300 up for premium treatment/spmu) for hair/nails and 40 artist commission. Cant afford salary yet because very few clients.

What to do to scale any tips (marketing, planning) any would be appreciated 🥹❤️

I didn't grow up with money or connections, but I had an oven and a dream

I didn't grow up with money or connections, but I had this: a small kitchen in Silang, Cavite, and a stubborn belief that my cookies were good enough to sell.

That's how CM&J Sweets Creations started. No big capital, no fancy equipment — just me, testing batch after batch of gourmet 100g cookies until I got the texture and flavor right. Soft, thick, loaded with chocolate, the kind you feel a little guilty finishing in one sitting.

I'm not a big brand. I'm just a home baker trying to build something real, one order at a time.

If you're in Cavite, I'd love for you to try them; all of our cookies are baked fresh every day. If you're anywhere else in the Philippines, I ship nationwide through J&T Express and LBC, so distance isn't really an excuse anymore 😅

Any support — even just a comment or a share — means a lot to a small business like mine. Thank you for reading this far, and God bless you all

The biggest financial lesson my small business taught me wasn't about making more sales

When I first started my small business, I thought the goal was simple: increase sales as much as possible.

‎And don't get me wrong—sales definitely matter.

‎But after running the business for a while, I realized that having a busy week doesn't always mean the business is actually doing better financially.

‎There were months where orders were coming in almost every day, but by the time I paid suppliers, covered operating expenses, and replenished inventory, there wasn't as much left as I expected.

‎That's when I started paying closer attention to cash flow instead of just revenue.

‎Now I spend a little time each week checking what money is actually coming in, what needs to go out soon, and whether upcoming expenses are already covered.

‎I'm still far from perfect, but it's helped me avoid that feeling of being "busy but broke."

‎For fellow business owners, was there a financial lesson you only learned after running your business for a while.

LF: Small businesses that need branding (free) 🍀🌀

Hi po! I’m currently building my portfolio as a brand designer and decided to take on a branding project for free.

I’m especially looking for small businesses that have a clear purpose and story with a meaning behind what they do. Here are the particular industries im interested in:

— Perfume
— Food (café, resto)
— Stationery
— Books
— Handmade local crafts
— Beauty (make up, skincare)
— Pet Products

Please note that this wont be a rush project, so im hoping to work with someone who’s open to the process and will trust me in the creative direction. No deadline, open project.

if you’re interested, pls just comment any existing social media page you have and i’ll message you if I feel your brand is a good fit! dms wont be entertained. thank you 🤍

Recently started a small business. How do you deal with Barat customers?

We started a small business (automotive care na homeservice)

For example 4300 lang singil namin sa PMS na all in with homeservice fee, kaso tumawad sya for 3350.

Customer's car is a mid size SUV that needs 4 liters of oil and special oil filter. tapos may jerking issue yung sasakyan nya. Kaya kailangan ng diagnostic scan.

After nya tumawad sa 3350, all of a sudden 2000 nalang daw budget nya. At sya nalang daw mag provide ng oil para mas mura. At this point mas pinili namin icancel nalang

---

Any tips or advise mula sa mga small business owners na may same exp? How do you deal with barat customers?

In this particular case, mas pinili namin icancel nalang.

Any insight will help. Salamat po!

Bakery Owners Question naman

Picture from google.

Well good kung nababasan or nauubos kase ibig sabihin business is doing okay.

How does one with absolutely zero knowledge about business start off their own? How did you start your own food business from the bottom?

I'm thinking about selling my own spicy fried chicken, but I know it's not just "make chicken, sell chicken". If only it's that simple.
