Don't know how to scale my salon as a 20 year old owner/hairstylist/nail artist
I have a small 18sqm salon plus 12sqm 2nd flr space (15k rent)
Cons: in a hidden location near the public market (not my target market) in a city in the south. My location does not have any parking which my clients complain a lot about because they mostly have cars since my prices are on the premium side (up to 5k for luxury hair treatment, 1k min. russian manicure, 2.5k semi permanent brows/lips, etc.)
Pros of current location: free 2nd flr space (for spmu and lash services), i live there for free too plus free food for me and all my artists everyday courtesy of relatives. Basically i dont have any personal and other expenses.
plan in next few months: i will train to learn more high earning services: hair extensions and spmu. Actually deciding on slowly phasing out nails and lashes in the future since prone to backjobs and artists are unreliable
In a year or two: Eventually i want to branch out to neighboring more urbanized city and rent in a commercial space with parking for better visibility/convenience. But i fear my current branch will crumble since i am the bottleneck as manager and artist. Also comm space rent will likely be 40k plus utilities plus artist salaries and other expenses dunno if i can afford in future
I currently earn about 50-60k net most months except december (i earn 200k+). My fixed monthly expenses (45k) are 15k rent 5k electricity 15k stocks/maintenance 10k social media manager. All my artists are at 60 40 pure comission. I pay myself 15k a month.
Im yet to try fb ads to see how much it will help with client acquisition. Waiting for influencers to submit their videos.
Currently averaging 2 clients a day for premium services (hair, russian mani) ticket price average at 2.5k minus supplies (150+, 300 up for premium treatment/spmu) for hair/nails and 40 artist commission. Cant afford salary yet because very few clients.
What to do to scale any tips (marketing, planning) any would be appreciated 🥹❤️
