Background Question

Could good experience like security or correctional work help with having a background that is questionable. I've done something stupid it's not super bad but it was a mistake I made when I was 16 and I traded my ADHD meds for beer. Could having a good job resume help recover from that?

Sorry that my grammar is bad I was at the gym.

Dog tearing up walls

Good evening everyone,

We have a 1 year old field golden retriever. Easiest puppy we have ever had he is the sweetest boy and so kind. We never had any problems with him outside of his nervous/exciting peeing he does which is gettin better with time we think. But recently when we leave him alone he starts eating corners of the walls at our apartment. We don't know if it's separation anxiety or just overall boredom. But it can't keep happening. Does anyone have an advice? Any tips? Has this happened to you before? We don't wanna end up having to crate him while we are at work but it could be our only option. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jobs

What are the best jobs to get that look good on a resume while getting a bachelors degree. I am looking at probation/parole, corrections, volunteer firefighter, and security.

Help

Good evening everyone,

I recently gotten DQed for recent marijuana use. It was a one time thing and before that I hadn't smoked in 2 years. I was asked to wait 2 years before applying again which is okay as I am only 20 and will go back to school and get my bachelors. I am writing this because I am wondering if you guys have had success after being DQed and being told wait. I am a little worried but the agency did tell me before my background that I was a top 3 candidate.

Is a Comm major just completely useless? I am about to get my associates in it and am wondering if I should switch as I am transferring schools and now would be the time to do it.

  1. This agency I'm applying for is moving very fast and I am wondering how long does the background investigation takes with agency that move fast.

For example we had the written and physical exam the same day. 3 days later we had the oral board and we got notified of our results 2 days after the oral board.

  1. When I was younger abt 15 or 16 I traded my ADHD medication for beer because I had just recently gotten off of my medication. Yes it was stupid and I shouldn't have done it. Will this hold me back from ever becoming a cop?

I just submitted my background and am very excited for the rest of the process. A little nervous abt something from my past but idk if it'll screw me too much. Did anyone do something wrong in the past and still get through? I traded my ADHD for beer when I was abt 15.
