Hi everyone,

I recently went in for a blood test unrelated to my upper stomach discomfort + lack of appetite and it showed that I was H pylori positive. I had no idea what it was so I started to do some research and thought okay maybe this is something I may have, i went in for a stool test and im still waiting for my results.

Now in the past I've always had some stomach issue, I actually have a hard time losing weight (and based off of what I searched H pylori actually makes you lose weight?) I remember being diagnosed in highschool with IBS, the doctor at the time just said it was most likely stress and that resolved on its own. I am lactose intolerant and I usually stay away from dairy now for a very long time.

I've tried out trying to cut foods out and I did feel better with that but my stomach discomfort would come and go for the past 15 years. Sometimes months in between i would feel fine and then again something would come up. i usually never treated it, I thought my stomach is just sensitive but I also experience constant fatigue and hair fall etc. My vitamins are all within range however I have been supp and none of my levels increased in the past 3 months so that's something i flagged to my doctor.

He prescribed me PPI, Pantozol 40mg and I felt horrible after it, I never really had heart burn, just upper stomach discomfort so I don't know if PPI is something beneficial for me. I also had this vomit like taste in my mouth after taking it.

I'm a bit lost on what I should do and needed advice from anyone who is in a similar situation or has more knowledge about this. Thank you 😄
