Career Advice- BA or WD Analyst
Hi everyone,
I’ve been working as a workday analyst for around 2 years. I’m enjoying the configuration side of things and learning about the system. I’m confident with HCM and just starting to get involved with Payroll and Time and Absence.
I found out recently my role is now getting changed to business analyst. I.e hands off from the system and only requirement gathering. I’ll still get to do basic operational tasks but everything else, even BP edits, is being moved to another department. It’s part of a larger change in the organization.
Is there benefit to working as a business analyst and learning how to gather requirements etc. when it’s not something I’m particularly interested in? I’m okay to do it if it will advance my career and ultimately help me land a technical role (I.e doing integration work, getting more involved on the time / absence modules).
Any advice is appreciated.
