The original SSR is back.
Singeetham Srinivasa Rao has always been that rare kind of filmmaker. Not just successful, but truly imaginative. The kind who made films that did not follow templates. They created their own space.
I grew up watching Aditya 369 and Bhairava Dweepam. Those films felt different even then. Time travel, fantasy, humor, emotion… all done in a way that never felt forced.
That is why Sing Geetham hits differently.
At 94, he is still directing. Still experimenting. Still trying something that feels unusual.
I am genuinely curious to see what he is up to with this one. The gold mines setting, the musical fantasy vibe, the village atmosphere, DSP’s music, and that old-school sense of wonder… it all feels refreshing.
Not sure where the film will land, but I am happy something like this is being made.
Curious what you all think about it.
