Update #2 - The Driving Simulator Project

Hi everyone,
Hope you're all doing well!

Some of you might remember our post from a few weeks back. To summarise it quickly — we are two friends who have spent the past couple of months building a driving simulator from scratch. In our last post, we were seeking advice on how to get it installed somewhere.

Unfortunately, we are still in the same predicament. After our previous post, we decided to visit Buch Villas and pitch to a few locations there. So far, those attempts have been unsuccessful. The designated agents at their head office could not have been more uninterested and basically tried to get rid of us at every turn. On some occasions they would make us wait for hours, and at one point even directed us to an office that doesn't exist. So yeah, a bit stuck — but we haven't given up! We have also reached out to some higher-ups directly and are actively working on arranging a proper meeting.

In the meantime, we decided to do a small photoshoot for the simulator and set up its social media pages to start getting the word out. If you're curious, feel free to check us out on Instagram at @velocity.sim

Next on our agenda is to keep producing content for our socials, expand to other platforms, improve our branding, and scout for more locations — including the Metro Store and a few other spots on Bypass Road.

That's about it for now. We know that securing a good location won't be easy, but we're going to keep pushing — and hopefully the next update will bring some good news!

In the meantime, thank you all so much for taking the time to read these updates. Please let us know if you have any ideas, feedback, or suggestions. We're all ears!

Thanks!

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all doing well!

A bit of a long story — my friend and I have spent the past couple of months building this driving simulator. We both work full-time, so most of this happened during late nights after work. It's been a great experience, honestly, and this is just the first small step toward something bigger — we eventually want to build more immersive automotive experiences down the line.

The whole thing was built from scratch, which we're pretty proud of. The problem is, we've now hit a wall that's a bit outside our area of expertise, and I've figured we'd reach out to see if anyone here has some advice.

The plan was to place it somewhere with good foot traffic — a mall, a plaza, something like that. We reached out to Mall of Multan and a few other spots. MOM was a no for understandable reasons; they're already packed. United Mall near Brand Road seemed interested but basically said they'd only consider us once the bigger brand units are filled — fair enough, but not exactly helpful for us right now. A few other places that did show genuine interest are currently dealing with the smart lockdown situation, so things are on hold there too.

So now we're a bit stuck. One option is to just get our own space, but that quickly turns into running a full gaming café — fit it out, add more activities, manage all the overhead. That's out of our budget and not really where we want to put our energy.

What we're really hoping for is something more like what Zero Massage Chairs do — a kiosk-style setup somewhere with high footfall, where people can stop for a quick exciting experience. That would also let us focus on improving the simulator and building more experiences like it.

I'm posting this because I'd rather not just sit and wait for the lockdown to lift — I want to keep moving and prepare as much as we can now. If anyone has been through something similar, whether it's getting a product placed, finding the right kind of partnership, or just navigating this kind of early stage, we'd really appreciate hearing from you.

Happy to answer any questions, and genuinely grateful for any advice. Thanks for reading!

Note: I'm sorry for the poor-quality images. I don't have high-resolution images with me right now, so I'm posting screenshots from the demo video.
