Progesterone & zombies

I was started on 100mg progesterone and the first night I took it, I was like wow my thoughts aren’t racing, I feel weightless. This is amazing. BUT THEN, a day or two later, I was like oh goodness no, this is too heavy. I was a zombie all day the next day. And I felt wasted at night.

Then I read if you take it right as your closing your eyes, at least two hours after you’ve eaten dinner (food can spike absorption), and wake up 7-8 hours later (don’t sleep too long), the zombie feeling will stop. And it did! I think my biggest problem was taking it too close to food which makes it process differently in your body and taking it too early in the evening which meant I was sleeping through it wearing off, and then getting a late start helping it metabolize out of my body.

I hadn’t seen this on here so I thought I’d share in case it helps anyone else.

Doctor finally agreed to HRT

This doctor has treated me like a child since I brought up HRT. Insisted it would not help despite all the evidence I’m in perimenopause. :( She finally agreed and put the order in but didn’t tell me how to use them or how often to change them and take them. so frustrating and bizarre behavior. I’ll figure it out

anyway. what am I in for? is it a rough transition as your body adjusts or did you feel less achy, less irritable, less migraine-y, less rage filled, and less tired pretty quickly?

thanks for helping a girl out. this subreddit has been immensely helpful for me. 🤍

edit to add: She prescribed 100 mg progesterone. I’m not sure if it’s daily or cyclical. And 0.05 mg patch. Not sure when to change it though.
