Clear Margins and BCR

I was just thinking about how relieved and excited I was when I met with my surgeon in September and heard those magical words, “clear margins, your pathology is a home run.” Three blood tests later and it’s hard to even make sense of it all. Went from clear margins to .02, .04, .05 and the next blood test is going down tomorrow. I well understand there are zero guarantees however, it is mentally tough being on that downward roller coaster. Wondering what the community has experienced with this situation.

Have you had SRT without ADT/Orgovy?

Wondering if any members here had SRT without having to have ADT or Orgovyx etc? If so, why and how? How has it worked out?

Thank you to all members who respond.

Orgovyx/ADT Muscle retention Possibility?

Maybe getting ahead of myself just a bit, but I’m a former military guy and I like to be prepared. I had RALP surgery just shy of a year ago and my PSA numbers have been .02, .04, .05. Next one’s coming middle of next month. I just wanted to ask the members here that have had salvage radiation and subsequent ADT or Orgovyx and worked out i.e. resistance training prior to RALP surgery and have a fair amount of muscular mass - quite simply, were you able to keep your existing muscle mass with consistent, regular resistance training during the use of ADT/Orgovyx? I only ask because I’ve been super dedicated for the last 15 to 20 years with my resistance training and with cardiovascular work and I’ve read a lot of posts here in the community and I have apprehensions and concerns about potentially losing some hard earned mass. Of course, my first concern is being cancer free obviously.

I Thank you in advance to anybody who responds.

Biopsy Needle Tract Seeding - Thoughts?

I was reading a study that claims less than 1% of patients experience any type of cancer cell escape during biopsy. Just wondering what the community thinks? We are obviously patients and not the doctors or pathologists, however, my own personal view is that I think it’s higher. That’s not to say that those cells survive and bring the cancer outside of the gland or do something else nefarious. But I’m sorry-I had twelve needles shot into my prostate whereas some of them snatched some dirty little cancer cells and were drawn right back out through my prostate wall and out of my a*s and off to pathology. You’re telling me that doctors, pathologists or whoever, KNOW that they generally don’t escape 😳 I don’t buy it for a second. I say the percentage is way higher - but those little trouble makers just don’t have enough gang members to form a gang and even more importantly they don’t have a hangout I.e tumor to flop out in. Just my own humble opinion. Seriously, unless they had a micro camera with a cancer cell detectable filter parked on the outside of your prostate when that needle comes a draggin’ out … I can’t be a believer. Oh and I didn’t even broach the topic of the myriad of escape holes left in your prostate when the biopsy is done.

Cuboid Gout?

Have this reoccurring pain and after some research I think it’s cuboid gout. It’s a very specific area on the outside of my foot. It does turn a little bit red painful to the touch, but it’s very specific area. What odd is that? It started a few weeks ago and went away. After I jumped on some prednisone and colchicine. Now I’m off the prednisone pretty much just done a .6 of colchicine per day. I’m wondering if it’s part of the same flair? Guess I’ll just ride the colchicine until it goes away and then I’ve got a prescription for allopurinol. Actually avoided the gout thing for years. My brother and father had a pretty good. I live a different kind of lifestyle very clean not a big eater of purines and I don’t drink alcohol. Apparently all that doesn’t matter and I work out too. Thanks.

Outer mid-foot pain - gout or Extensor Tendonitis?

Alright gout crew …. took some crappy pics of the outside of my foot. This pain came on pretty quickly. Thought maybe tendonitis but, I did have a whole ankle flair on this ankle about 6-8 weeks ago. It’s a weird spot. It does feel gouty I must say. Hurts just to touch it. I do have some of the gout killer medicine - colchicine. Maybe take a dose or two?

Sitting at Quest… Blood 🩸 Draw =3

Here we are again - Post RALP PSA #3. Had a .02 at 90 days then a .04 at 180 days. Really wondering what we will have this visit? I have found the anxiety isn’t terrible - until I see the “test result available” 😬 I also know this is something way out of my control. We just keep hoping for the best I guess. Sure wish I would’ve been a < guy !!
